AS YOU LISTEN to the audio "Body, Spirit, Life & Death" (24 min) you can refer to the Self Knowledge Diagram. The Diagram illustrates a comprehensive and complete teaching of Self Knowledge and shows all of the ideas of the teaching in context - it is sort of a "Flow Chart" for the Perennial Wisdom Teachings of Self Knowledge.
Having a visual illustration of the teaching of Self Knowledge will make all of the various "pointers" much easier to understand and apply to your self in a practical way.
As you cruise the internet listening to, watching and reading various presentations of the teachings, you can use this Diagram as a reference to facilitate comprehension and application of what you are learning.
The terms used in this Diagram are those of Nisaragadatta Maharj as presented in I AM THAT. As you study the various teachings of non-dual Self Knowledge you begin to realize that they share common fundamental themes, and are essentially the same. The various forms of the teaching can be referred to as "The Perennial Wisdom Teachings of Self Knowledge." This is a beautiful thing because you can choose among the various teachings and pick the one(s) you resontate with most, and know that when you understand one, you have understood them all - only the terminolgy is different.
Here is the complete PDF Book The Self Realization Diagram with Key Terms (138 pgs) which provides excerpts from I AM THAT describing the terms used, and showing them in context.
One of the greatest challenges of comprehending and applying the teachings is understanding all of the apparent contradictions such as: "There is nothing you can do" vis-a-vis "You are the Creator." Or "You must give up all effort and surrender completely" vis-a-vis "You must desire liberation with all your heart and soul and fight for it with devout earnestness." And many other apparent contradictions that make sense when understood in context and in a comprehensive, complete teaching.
As you listen to the audio Body, Spirit, Life & Death refer to the diagram and apply what you are hearing to yourself. Notice how it all begins to make sense when seen and understood in context. As you understand more, your experience of yourself and your world will change reflecting your new understanding. And you will know that the teaching of Self Knowledge is given to facilitate an experential shift in Identity.
As your Identity changes your experience changes because your experience is projected from your core belief in what you are. Hence the importance of Self Knowledge, and its strong emphasis in the various spiritual teachings.
And you can begin to know, feel and experience yourself as the Absolute, Unconditional Love of the One. I am the Love of the One. This is the purpose for your life. You can take that to the bank. This is the fulfillment of our purpose for being.
Every morning as you wake up, and every evening as you drift off into sleep you can remember your purpose. Today I will learn to accept myself, forgive myself for my perceived faults, and love myself and others unconditionally. This is why I am here. This is my life's mission.
