Neville Goddard - Self-Concept as the Source of Experience

THE WORLD IS OURSELVES PUSHED OUT. If you want to change any situation in your life, YOU have to change first, before the situation will change. People always expect the situation to change first, THEN THEY will change. No, it is the other way round. You change, then the situation changes. The solution is not on the outside, but within you.

To attempt to change the world before we change our concept of ourselves is to struggle against the nature of things. There can be no outer change until there is first an inner change.

There is nothing to change but our concept of self. As soon as we succeed in transforming self, our world will dissolve and reshape itself in harmony with that which our change affirms.

Instead of changing things, I would suggest to all to identify themselves with the ideal they contemplate. What would the feeling be like were your eyes too pure to behold iniquity; if to you, all things were pure, and you were without condemnation?

Contemplate the ideal state and identify yourself with it, and you will ascend to the sphere where you as Christ have your natural life.
